Renova Cream 60gm .05%
What is Renova?
Renova is a new topical drug from Ortho Dermatological. This medication is
used to improve the appearance to skin by reducing wrinkles and improving coloration.
It is also used to prevent and treat acne in the treatment of acne. It's hardly
the best-kept secret in the annals of medicine: Renova fights wrinkles. When
the news came out 10 years ago, doctors began prescribing the humble acne drug
not only to teenagers but to their mothers -- and to every other woman in her
30s and 40s who wanted a safe medical treatment for aging skin.
Renova is a medication that you can use to improve how your skin looks and feels.
Renova improves your skins looks by reducing the lines and wrinkles where you
apply Renova. If you want total protection for your skin use Renova to give
you a rejuvenated look. Renova will also reduce the roughness of the feeling
of your skin. If you have touch and chapped skin Renova will help your skin
heal.
Today, adults have a Renova product of their own: a new, improved version called
Renova, reformulated in a moisturizing cream. It's the first medicine ever approved
by the FDA for the treatment of sun-damaged skin. The active ingredient in Renova
is a potent chemical derived from vitamin A. It smoothes fine lines by acting
on the cells of the dermis, the lower layer of the skin. When damaged by the
sun's ultraviolet A rays, the dermis tends to shrink, which causes the outer
layer to wrinkle. Tretinoin keeps the dermis plump by causing the cells to produce
more collagen. Renova also turns rough skin smooth by working on the outer layer
-- the epidermis -- and removes age spots by reducing the amount of melanin
that skin cells produce.
How do I take Renova Cream?
Renova is for use on the face as directed, usually once a day at bedtime. Apply
a pea-size amount of cream to clean, dry skin on the face being careful to avoid
the eyes, nostrils and mouth. Wash hands after use. Do not use this more often
than prescribed or in large amounts. It will not give your faster or better results
but will increase the risk of side effects. Do not use on sunburn or eczema or
other serious skin conditions. Effects of this medication will be gradual with
most improvement seen in the first 6 months of continued therapy. If used for
acne the condition may worsen at first, then improve.
How does Renova work?
RENOVA has effects on both the superficial and deep parts of the skin. One of
the major benefits is to decrease the effects of sunlight caused aging by increasing
the speed with which the surface cells are replaced.
What are possible side effects of Renova?
You may experience mild redness or stinging, itching, burning, skin scaling,
peeling and dry skin the first several weeks as your body adjusts to Renova.
If any of these effects continue or become severe, discontinue use and notify
your doctor
Precautions about Renova?
Before taking this Renova tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing skin disorders
